History 2003 – 2007
Ray Whiten served as minister of music from May 2000 to June 2003.
Edward Whitworth was called in July 2003 as interim Minister of Music.
Nate Goodwin who was serving as Associate Pastor was ordained into the ministry on September 7, 2003.
Construction of a new worship & educational center was approved on August 17, 2003.
The church accepted the resignation of Doug Ferguson on September 12, 2003.
On April 18, 2004, Dr. Ross Layne was called as pastor.
The pastorium was sold and removed from the property in 2004.
Edward Whitworth, who had been serving as interim Minister of Music, accepted the position of part-time Minister of Music October 10, 2004.
Lee Carter served as Summer Youth Ministry Assistant in 2005.
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church approved a new church design plan, May 14, 2006.
On January 21, 2006 a celebration service was held recognizing our exceeding our $100,000.00 building fund goal for the year.
Wilma Kennedy worked hired as part-time Ministry Assistant in 2006 from February to September.
Michelle Monroe served as Summer Youth Ministry Assistant in 2006.
Anna Clanton was hired as part-time Ministry Assistant in September 2006.
Ken Whitfield was ordained to gospel ministry on November 19, 2006.
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church adopted the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 as the church’s statement of faith.
In December 2006, Edward Whitworth resigned as Minister of Music.
Bill Durham accepted the position of interim Minister of Music on January 7, 2007.
Nate Goodwin resigned as Associate Pastor on February 25, 2007.
Janna McCollum was hired as Ministry Assistant to begin on June 4, 2007.
Anna Clanton and Bill Durham left their positions at the end of June 2007.
Jeff Whiten served as Interim Minister of Music from July 1 to August 12, 2007.
Bill Durham returned just in time to resume to position of interim Minister of Music.
New deacons ordained since 2002 were: Mike Bruce, Mike Petty, Scot Bruce, Scott Jordan, Charlie Stratton, James Stratton, and Mark Hamner.
Baptisms: Dee Dee Anderson, Jenna Anderson, Grace Ashworth, Bo Breedlove, Bobby Breedlove, Cezann Cawthon, Todd Critchlow, Andrea Duffy, Keri Eaton, Caitie Floyd, Reagan Floyd, Taylor Floyd, Clark Gaines, Tim Harris, Bethany Jordan, Larry & Brandi Koch, Andrea Lunsford, Erica Porterfield, Jade Randall, Cale Singleton, Bill Smith, Sam Smith, Ken South, Steve Terrell, and Chuck Vickery.
